Pro-Palestine events coming up

Stop the Attacks on Gaza!

Gaza is under attack by one of the most deadly military machines on the planet — with even worse to come as yesterday Israeli troops launched aground invasion. But people from around the world have sent a very clear message that we do not support this slaughter. Yesterday 8-10,000 people marched in Sydney (check out photos here and here) and there will be more rallies and events to get to.

Tomorrow Resistance and the Socialist Alliance are having a working bee for Palestine at 4.30-6.30pm in the Resistance Center 23 Abercrombie St. If you want to help out with the organising the next protest for Gaza or help make badges, leaflets, paint banners, come in!

There will most probably be a candle lit vigil for Palestine on Thursday evening, the details are being confirmed and there is a plan to have another rally either this weekend or next for more info call Tim on 0430 209 865.

Jerusalem ...The East Side Story

Mohammed Alatar, 2007, 57mins

Acclaimed director Mohammed Alatar's (The Iron Wall) new documentary reveals the policies that aim to Judaize the city of Jerusalem by controlling and collectively punishing the Palestinian community -pressuring Palestinians into submission or flight. Many Jerusalemites, including Jewish Israelis, tell their story first hand. The film brilliantly exposes the injustices faced by the Palestinians - from house demolitions through to the Apartheid Wall.

La Terre Parle Arabe (The Land Speaks Arabic)

Maryse Gargour, 2008, 60 mins

This multi-award winning film by Jaffa-born Maryse Gargour, shines a spotlight on the ethnic cleansing of Palestine by the Zionist movement. Original source documents, rare archival footage, direct quotes from Zionists leaders, testimonies of witnesses, along withinterviews with historians, illustrate that the expulsion of the indigenousArab population from Palestine was far from an accidental outcome of the 1948 war.
